That's it. Your vault is real.
Everything in it is encrypted, sitting on a device in your home, and reachable by nobody but you — not us, not a cloud, not anyone who breaches a company you've never heard of.
Don't stop here though. An empty vault is just a gadget. Part two below is the bit that makes it worth owning — about ten minutes.
Part two — the ten minutes that make it worth owning#
Setup proves the thing switches on. This part is where you find out why you bought it. Four small things, and by the end there is something real in your vault that your family can actually reach.
Type the two names and send it however you normally talk to them. Works from your phone or your laptop — whichever is online at the time.

Hi ___,
I've set up a small device at home called a BendFlex Vault. It holds the things you'd need if something happened to me — insurance, property papers, the important account logins.
It isn't online and it isn't in any cloud, so there's no link I can send you and no password to email. That's deliberate: it's the reason it's safe.
I've given you access to the parts that matter. Next time you're over it takes about two minutes — you connect to it from your phone and I'll show you how to open it. Worth doing sooner rather than later.
If you want to read up first, everything is at vault.bendflex.in

Then paste it into WhatsApp, Messages or email.
One thing to be careful about
Never put the passphrase, the recovery words or the Wi-Fi password in a message. The reason your vault is safe is that none of it has ever crossed the internet. One helpful WhatsApp undoes that permanently, and unlike a leaked website password there is nothing to reset afterwards.
Those three are handed over in person, standing next to the device. The message above deliberately contains none of them — it says the vault exists, points at our public manual, and asks them to come and find you. The address in it is a normal website that knows nothing about your vault.

Now it's actually doing its job.
There's a password in there you'd hate to lose, a document that matters, and somebody who can reach the right parts of it if you can't.
That's the whole product. Everything else — more people, more documents, backups, two-factor codes — is just more of this.
